Five Tips for First-Time Tradeshow Vendors

Tradeshows can be an adventure. Sometimes they are a great, exciting adventure where you are meeting tons of prospects and closing deals left and right. Sometime they are the longest, most boring adventure you have ever been on as you sit among the other vendors with a handful of people mingling amongst the booths. Sometimes they are downright terrifying adventures where the pop up display stops popping up, or you realize that you are at the wrong show talking to the wrong people. Your first tradeshow could be any of these types of adventures, but hopefully, with a little advice, it will be an exciting one. Here are a few tips on how to survive your first tradeshow as a vendor.

Networking for Introverts

If you have met me then you probably know that I like people. I like to be around people. I like to laugh, talk, and socialize. What you may not know is that I get terribly nervous in big groups and around people that I do not know. I am a bit of an introvert in that sense. For example, if I do not know every single detail of an upcoming event, I do have a tendency to want to stay at home. By home, I mean my house, my office, my safe space. In my line of work as a Business Development Associate, that simply is not feasible. Therefore, I have created my go-to tips for successfully networking around your introverted tendencies.

And Then They Tell Two Friends….The Importance of Testimonials and Referrals

One of the first things I do when someone calls me to inquire about our services is ask, “How did you hear about us?” We like to keep track of whether it was our stellar marketing skills or our outstanding networking skills. Guest Blogging Success: Why is It So Important?

Deepak Gupta

As a blogger of any length of time, you’ve probably heard of guest blogging. However, most website owners perceive this as just one more task to add to their ever-increasing list of online marketing projects. Most feel they barely have enough time trying to write their own blog posts, create interest throughout their audiences and drive traffic to their own websites, let alone worry about doing the same on anyone else’s website or blog. Many also ask, “Besides, what is the benefit of doing someone else’s job, right?”

Staying Relevant within Disruptive Industry Change

I often think back to when I started Red Sage back in 2006, and note how different the tools of marketing are today compared to back then. I started Red Sage in a traditional, well-established industry. While the internet had certainly made an impact and websites were a fairly new development but quite common, the other tools of marketing were largely what they always had been: print, broadcast media, billboards, networking, etc.

The Importance of Networking

As a Business Development Associate, networking is a huge part of my job. Oftentimes, the importance of networking is overlooked. However, I once had a great manager tell me “People do business with you because they like and trust you.” The question to follow up on that statement is “How do you get people to like and trust you?” The answer is get out there and let them get to know you.

A Smart SEO Start

“How do I show up on the first page of the Google search results?” This is one of the most common questions that I get asked and there is never an easy answer. With the recent changes from Google, the answer has become even more complicated. It’s like asking someone how to win at poker. While search engine optimization requires a certain level of skill, there will always be some luck of the draw, too. To minimize your reliance on luck and focus on skill, here are a few universal things to get you started off in the right direction.
